—La Carbonería

Madrid didn’t need another festival, it needed a place to slow down. La Carbonería is a concert series that turns away from mass consumption to recover the city’s emotional heritage. The challenge was to translate this conscious pause into an identity that projects contemporary sophistication without losing the castizo pride that sets it apart from conventional festival aesthetics.

The typographic selection is the backbone of the identity, built around Retiro, designed by Jean François Porchez in 2006 for Madriz magazine. This typeface blends the elegance of Didone typography with the characteristic traits of castizo vernacular lettering, making it the perfect bridge between what has always been and what is now.

The colour palette is a tribute to sunsets over Parque Tierno Galván. We captured those transitional tones where sunlight transforms the space, creating a very particular atmosphere for the festival.

On the website, the design breathes through negative space, reflecting the openness of the park and the stillness the festival promises, with an interface that narrates the experience of inhabiting music within a natural setting.
